Wisconsin has been spending like education is the state’s top priority. But the results look like it has stopped caring. Year after year, taxpayers are told the system just needs more money, more staff, and more programs. Meanwhile, too many students leave school unable to read or do math at grade level, and discipline breaks down, how can this be? Let’s break it down!
Record High Spending = Dismal Results.
Over 10 years, per pupil spending spending went from $12,250 → $18,750! That is a a 53% increase, exceeding pre-Act 10 inflation-adjusted levels. Yet, we can see that Students that are NOT Reading at grade level went from 49% →60%. After 8 Years of Democrat Leadership throwing more money at the problem, the Problems have actually GOTTEN WORSE!?
The Lowering of Standards
Wisconsin’s DPI has repeatedly lowered Test Standards to mask this Alarming Decline. This has Created something called the ‘Lake Wobegon’ Effect, where Everyone APPEARS to be exceeding expectations. Yet actual Data (Especially in Milwaukee) show that even schools with SINGLE DIGIT Reading rates are still given the “Exceeds Expectations” Label. Wisconsin DPI’s grade inflation hides real declines and hides failed Schools from any accountability.
Indoctrination > Education
In many of the major Liberal Districts, (Madison, Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, etc.) Have policies on the books that allow Children to start Transitioning WITHOUT notifying the Parents! Thanks to Trump, much of the DEI and Gender Confusion has been taken out of the curriculum. but this has not stopped Teacher/Activists. On May 1st, Madison Metro Schools were shut down because Teachers wanted to join in the Anti-ICE Protests.
Achievement Gaps and Urban Failure
Wisconsin has some of largest Racial achievement gaps in the nation. Despite continued Funding increases, MPS has consistently had Rock-Bottom Results! This has lead many to look towards parental choice programs. Letting people choose their school based on results encourages competition and Forces Better Results!
Resistance to Reform and Shrinking Enrollment
Democrats continue to oppose real reforms like including more choice, transparency, and accountability. The result? Property taxes rise, outcomes lag, and kids suffer—especially in districts that can’t or won’t compete!
Districts like Madison are projected to lose ~700 students in next 5 years. This is an across the board issue. With a decline in students, why hasn’t staffing seen a Similar decline, in fact it has been stagnant, or increased!!
THE SOLUTION = TOM TIFFANY!
Luckily for Wisconsin’s Students, there is a Solution!
Electing Tom Tiffany as Governor! He has Promised to Raise Standards, Refocus schools on Educating, not Indoctrinating, and shrinking bureaucracy to get families, and taxpayers better Results!
